WARNER ELECTRIC ADDING NEW EQUIPMENT AND NEW JOBS IN COLUMBIA CITY

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

COLUMBIA CITY, Ind(July 7, 2017) – Local manufacturing business, Warner Electric, recently announced plans to expand its operations in Park 30 Business Center, and will add new equipment and new jobs.

Warner Electric, located at 4578 E. Park 30 Drive in Park 30 Business Center, was founded in 1927, and is a subsidiary of Altra Industrial Motion, Corp., which is a leading multinational producer and marketer of mechanical power transmission products.

“Columbia City continues to be a strategic and high-performance operation in our North American business,” said David Ebling, President of Altra Industrial Motion’s Electromagnetic Clutch Brake Division. “We have an outstanding workforce in Whitley County. Our team consistently strives to improve product quality, productivity, and responsiveness to the needs of our customers. We are pleased to make this investment giving our team new tools to perform at an even higher level.”

Warner specializes in manufacturing clutch and brake solutions, and provides components for a wide array of markets including: turf & garden equipment, agriculture equipment, material handling, food and beverage, and others. With the ability to manufacture a variety of electromagnetic power transmission components such as clutches, brakes, coils, sensors and switches, Warner is considered a primary supplier by its market-leading customers.

Warner has grown in Whitley County throughout the years. Just three years ago, in 2014, Warner announced the consolidation of its operation in South Beloit, Illinois, to Whitley County. At that time, Warner invested $2 million to combine its three locations in Whitley County, and lease its current 96,000-square-foot facility in Park 30.

“We are pleased to hear of Warner’s continued confidence in our community, and we are happy to support their growth,” said Whitley County Economic Development Corporation (EDC) President Jon Myers.

The company will make a significant investment in new equipment, such as CNC machinery and assembly equipment to increase its manufacturing capacity and efficiency. Warner currently has over 200 employees, and plans to add new full-time jobs to support growth and operate the additional equipment.

The Whitley County Council approved a ten-year tax abatement in support of the project, at the request of the Whitley County EDC.

“We are pleased to support Warner on this project. As one of Whitley County’s major employers, we look forward to watching the company continue to grow, and support our residents and our community,” said Whitley County Council President John Barrett.
