Leadership Whitley County

Applications for Class 23 are Open.

For more than 22 years, the Leadership Whitley County (LWC) program has helped develop more than 400 diverse leaders in the community. When we grow, attract and retain servant leaders in our community, who care about and invest in something greater than themselves, new ideas are born, business improves and community satisfaction increases.

LWC is a seven-month experiential learning program designed to empower individuals to serve and become better leaders, engage individuals in the workplace and community, and connect them with resources to continue growing as a leader at home, in the workplace and in the community.

Sessions begin in September and meet once a month through April. September includes a full-day retreat and October through March sessions are half-day (8 a.m. to 1 p.m.) at various locations throughout the county. The LWC Class participation concludes in April with an evening graduation celebration and meal.

The cost per participant is $850, with tuition assistance available.

Interested applicants complete an application and then are notified if they are accepted within a month after the deadline. Spots do fill quickly, so do not delay your application. Applications are available by May 1 and close on June 30.

During the fall of 2015, LWC became a program of the Whitley EDC. Through this partnership, the Whitley EDC and LWC program can combine skills and resources to help attract and develop talented individuals that excel in the workplace, and serve our community.

The Whitley EDC has changed its structure and moved to a collaborative approach allowing our alumni to engage and help lead the program. We have created a Program Advisory Council (PAC) to drive curriculum and choose class speakers and an Alumni Engagement Council to oversee alumni participation and collaboration.
