Leadership Whitley County Applications Now Available for Program’s 22nd Year
COLUMBIA CITY, Ind. (March 15, 2022) — Applications are now available for the Leadership Whitley County (LWC) program’s Class 22. The county’s premier program builds leadership skills, connects participants to the community and engages servant leadership. Applications are due June 30, 2022.
“LWC is a great way to network with others in the community. Each session helped me become a better leader and a more informed citizen of our community. With the new skills I learned from attending LWC, I hope to make a meaningful impact in Whitley County,” said Vanessa Bills, Community Foundation of Whitley County Chief Operating Officer and LWC Class 2 Alum.
Participants participate in panel discussions with local organizations discussing current issues in Whitley County. They receive training focused on communication, strengths, leadership competencies and principles, tour county industries and service organizations, engage in a community change project, learn about non-profit board service, and more during the eight-month-long program.
The program is guided by LWC alumni, community members, and regional speakers who help plan, create and present content. The Whitley County Economic Development Corporation has hosted the program since 2015 and looks forward to LWC Class 22 with new programming and approach.
“Leadership Whitley County is changing programming with more engagement, more community connections and integrating a project component again to the curriculum. We are looking forward to the slated agenda and discussion topics as we plan with LWC alumni and community leaders,” said Kennedy Saggars, Whitley County EDC Marketing Director.
LWC was founded in 2000 to empower, engage and connect servant leaders in the community. For more than 20 years, LWC has developed more than 450 diverse leaders in the community, ranging from executive-level leadership to product line supervisors across all industries.
