INCUMBENT WORKER TRAINING PROGRAMS SET FOR NOBLE AND WHITLEY

ALBION, IN – The Noble and Whitley County Economic Development Corporations are working together to advance the skill sets of local manufacturing employees through a robust schedule of certification-based incumbent worker training.
The training programs are affiliated with Noble County’s NobleUp initiative, which is designed to improve the skills, wages and quality of life for residents. Under NobleUp, a Manufacturing Entry Training Academy (META) has been established to fill entry-level jobs in manufacturing. It is equally important for incumbent manufacturing workers to increase their skills and improve their chances of promotions and wage increases.
Here is the tentative 2016 incumbent worker training programs schedule, which represents an expansion of the commitment to such training.

CNC Mill/Lathe Operator September 120-140 hrs.
Industrial Maintenance July 200 hrs.
Quality Training June & October 80-100 hrs.
FANUC Robotics Training August 120-160 hrs.
Welding Training July & September 80 hrs.
*Training dates are subject to change
The programs will be jointly funded by Northeast Indiana Works’ Skill-Up program and an Indiana Office of Community & Rural Affairs (OCRA) training grant received by Noble and Whitley counties. Candidates for the training are chosen by participating employers.
