IMPACT CNC EXPANDING TO MEET DEMANDS FOR AGRICULTURAL SUPPLY CHAIN

COLUMBIA CITY, Ind. (December 31, 2019) – Impact CNC, a locally owned contract computerized numerical control (CNC) manufacturing company, has decided to invest $6 million in new machinery and add 35 new jobs at its Short Street facility in Blue River Industrial Park in Columbia City.

Impact CNC supplies the automotive, heavy truck, off-highway, oil and agricultural industries.

Recently, the company was awarded a contract to machine components for the 8000 series of John Deere tractors, which will require more machinery and more employees to meet the demand. Impact CNC is one of Whitley County’s largest employers and will hire an additional 35 new positions with competitive pay and benefits for the new employees that join their team.

“This new business from John Deere will be another great milestone for Impact CNC,” said Jerry Busche, owner of Impact CNC.  “I believe in the coming years, John Deere will be a major customer and will help ensure Impact CNC is a stable and growing company for our employees and the community.”

At the request of Whitley County Economic Development Corporation (EDC), the Columbia City Council approved a ten-year tax abatement for the new equipment needed to produce the components for John Deere.

”We are happy to see Impact CNC’s success in bringing the manufacturing of more John Deere components to their facility in Whitley County,” said Jon Myers, President of the Whitley County Economic Development Corporation (EDC). “I think this demonstrates our strength in the agricultural economy and the ability for our businesses and workforce to provide value along the agricultural supply chain.”
