COLUMBIA CITY, Ind. (August 11, 2020) – Local agricultural company Ag Plus, Inc., recently announced plans to construct a new building and purchase new equipment to expand agricultural services.

Ag Plus, Inc., will build a 37,000 sq. ft. building at 5501 IN-9 in Columbia City to house more than 10,000 tons of storage capacity and continue manufacturing crop nutrients.

“We are thrilled to have this investment being made in the agriculture sector. Ag Plus has more than 100 years of history in Whitley County and we look forward to their continued success,” said Dale Buuck, Whitley EDC President.

Ag Plus currently has five facilities in Whitley County and is headquartered in South Whitley. They have five divisions including grain, agronomy, feed, energy, and retail, which serve the county and the region as a whole.

“The expansion allows for improved efficiency for area ag producers and Ag Plus,” said Jeff Mize, Ag Plus CEO.

Whitley County Council approved a tax abatement for the project at the request of Ag Plus and Whitley EDC at the August monthly County Council meeting.

“Ag Plus has been growing in Whitley County for years and we appreciate their desire to continue growth in Whitley County. I was happy to support the tax abatement,” said Bill Overdeer, Whitley County Council member.

Ag Plus will begin construction this fall with a scheduled completion date for March 2021.
